PRESS RELEASE 9/08/08 NYC, NY
The Committee for the Autoseum's premier event, which received stunning publicity from the major network affiliates at NBC, CBS and FOX (see www.Autoseum.org for video) in New York, has announced plans to take their not-for-profit organization to museums and other facilities where it will continue showcasing the most famous cars ever created.
The Autoseum's goal is the preservation of the world's most famous movie and TV cars and the formation of a one-of-a-kind industry, community, educational facility as well as hub for disseminating information on alternative, earth-friendly fuels.
With the added support of print media, the world's most famous car, the iconic original Batmobile, appeared on the cover of Newsday's "Explore Long Island" prior to the event later thrilling the packed house of 22,000 visitors. Nassau County BOCES also added its support to the event held on August 23 and 24, 2008 at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City which hosted the show.
Several celebrities, including the King of Kustom cars and creator of the famous cars, Hollywood legend George Barris, Butch Fitzpatrick known as TV's Little Eddie Munster, the DJ Chef Marc Weiss, Playboy and Victoria's Secret models, were on hand.
A dazzling palette of celebrity cars were displayed including the Monkee-mobile, James Bond's Silver Aston-Martin bearing the license plate 007, two Triple x-X-x GTOs, the General Lee, Drag-U-la, Knight Rider, Ghostbusters and Starsky and Hutch. Also, a beautiful burgundy 1963 Buick Villa

Additionally, hundreds of antique, muscle and specialty cars and trucks shimmered under the August sun in the parking lot in an amazing custom car show featuring a surprise guest, Chuck Zito, from the TV show "Oz." His spectacular 1957 Chevy was one of many show favorites. Approximately 20 trophies were awarded in conjunction with "Long Island Rides Magazine."
The Committee for the Autoseum, a 501-3-C nonprofit, is inviting community and industry leaders, educators and corporate sponsors to assist in creating a hands-on museum and vocational center in the NY/Tri-state area.
